Community Development Authority signs MoU with TRA for enhanced cyber safety

The Community Development Authority (CDA) in Dubai has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the UAE Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) to leverage on the UAE Computer Emergency Response Team (aeCERT) and ensure a safer cyber security environment for UAE internet users. The MoU is part of joint efforts to strengthen economic and cultural growth in the UAE.

As per the MoU, CDA's data and information will be secured to maintain a safe electronic environment for easy reference to information on social services in Dubai.

The MoU was signed by His Excellency Mohamed Nasser Al Ghanim, TRA Director General, and Her Excellency Dr Maryam Matar, Director General of the CDA, at a special ceremony held, recently, at CDA's headquarters.

Mr Al Ghanim stressed the importance of the agreement, stating that it complements the core functions for the implementation of TRA's strategy. Through the agreement, TRA will provide CDA with special services to improve the security of its IT system infrastructure through the UAE Computer Emergency Response Team. The aeCERT will provide guidance, education and awareness services, counseling, surveillance & response, and research & analysis services.

"It is important to provide a secure network for data and also enhance awareness about cyber safety. Through the MoU, CDA seeks to achieve its strategic mission of strengthening Dubai's social standards by offering high quality services," said Dr Matar.
