Mobile Monitoring Stations all over the UAE to monitor and oversee the Spectrum frequencies
Tens of services for cyberspace security by the UAE Computer Emergency Response Team (aeCERT)
The UAE Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) is participating in the 9th International Defence Exhibition & Conference 2009 (IDEX’09) that is taking place at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), on 22 – 26 February 2009.
In this respect, H.E. Mohamed Nasser Al Ghanim, TRA Director General, said: “The TRA is participating in this important event, which is considered one of the top events globally, to present services related to monitoring and securing spectrum all over the UAE, in addition to a stand for one of its initiatives represented by the aeCERT.”
“The TRA is presenting its state-of-the-art equipments for monitoring and securing the national spectrum, especially the Mobile Monitoring Stations and their vital role in preserving clean radio frequencies through monitoring unauthorized usage or the misuse of what is considered a national natural scarce resource. These services are crucial to maintain secured and organized communications considered primary to achieve efficient logistics for all relevant parties in the country,” added Al Ghanim.
“Furthermore, the TRA is also presenting the services of one of its initiatives, the UAE Computer Emergency Response Team (aeCERT), which has been accredited by the Cabinet as the UAE national CERT. The aeCERT constitutes a cyber security coordination center in the UAE, facilitating the detection, prevention and response to the broader set of cyber security incidents on the Internet for the UAE. Its mission may be summarized by ensuring a safer cyber security environment and culture in the UAE,” concluded Al Ghanim.
During IDEX’09, the TRA will announce the signing of an agreement by the aeCERT, representing the team’s first active initiation; bearing in mind that the aeCERT provides tens of services under advisory, education and awareness; consultancy; monitoring and response; and research and analysis.
However, the TRA is participating in IDEX’09 with a stand located at Hall 5, Stand B 20.
