The UAE Honeynet Chapter was established by the UAE Computer Emergency Response Team (aeCERT), in August, 2009, with the aim of:

• Spreading the honeynet deployments and knowledege throughout the UAE.
• Deploying honeynets to study the different sources of infection, purpose, and attack methodologies.
• Discover new forms of infections.
• Reducing the number of malicious websites.
• Utilize the honeynet deployments in incident handling.

 

A mid-to-long term objective of the chapter is to strengthen bilateral and regional Honeynet collaboration. This in order to initiate and deveop projects that focuses special purpose or region specific needs.
